5. Reason - There You Have It
What makes ’There You Have It’ a Top 5 album of 2018? Heart. This album spoke to me in ways very few albums had in 2018. Reason was able to speak on subjects that I’ve seen firsthand and give me perspective on stuff I hadn’t been involved in but it all felt genuine when he spoke. I would throw this album on at least three times a week since it’s release date and mostly likely will keep that trend going for months to come. I always give props to artists that can talk about real life situations in ways that aren‘t overly preachy or gimmicky, that’s something Reason shown he’s pretty much mastered on this album. This album housed one of my Top 10 songs of the year as well ‘Colored Dreams/Killers part 2’, this track fucks me up almost every time it comes on. The way he tells the story from the perspective of the regretful murderer was too realistic, you start feeling for the people affected by his actions as if you knew them personally. ‘There You Have It’ I feel will live for quite some time.
Standout Tracks:
‘Colored Dreams/Killers part 2’
‘Situations’
‘Summer Up’
